Chakras are the energy vortices energetically active all the time in our body. They have been mapped out for 5000 years.

These are the 7 major chakras of the body you’re going to learn about:

  1. The Root Chakra (Red)
  2. The Sacral Chakra (Orange)
  3. The Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow)
  4. The Heart Chakra (Green)
  5. The Throat Chakra (Blue)
  6. The Third Eye Chakra (Indigo)

In this article, I’m going to give you some basics so you can understand the 7 chakra colors and meanings.

We are going to discuss the most known chakra energetic systems, the meaning behind each of the 7 chakra colors, how to diagnose energy blockages within any of your chakras, and what to do about it.

This means which food, which yoga poses, and which essential oils adopt to realign them.

Let’s dive into the seven chakra colors and their meanings!

Table of contents

1. The Root Chakra is Red (Muladhara)

This chakra refers to the root of all things, the root foundation located at the base of the spine.

It is our connection to the earth, it keeps us grounded. It’s our connection to our tribe. It’s very important to feel safe in the world.

If your root chakra happens to be out of balance or not functioning properly, where the energy is blocked or not moving freely you may find yourself feeling disconnected; feeling disconnected from the earth, from your ground, feeling flighty…

You may feel emotionally insecure if your root chakra is out of balance.

One of the easiest things to do to help your root chakra is to do grounding exercises.

Imagine this root that you have is growing deep into the earth reaching down into the earth, feeling your strength into the earth.

It’s responsible for the water movement in your body, the energy coming inward in your body.

It’s about the reproductive energy, anything to do with the fluids in your body both psychologically, spiritually, and physically.

The second chakra is also your social chakra.

IS YOUR SECOND CHAKRA OUT OF BALANCE?

When the energy in the second chakra is not flowing correctly sexual impotence problems may arise, menstrual cramps, or problems going on the pelvis area.

Anything having to do with fertility, back pain, back stiffness.

Back numbness of the feeling of being overcharged, being overly sexual or frigid and cold are all indicators of the second chakra being out of balance.

Most healers, believe it or not, have a hard time receiving love. They have a very easy time giving love. If this is you, maybe you need to balance your heart chakra allowing it to both give and receive love. Allowing love to flow through you, to you, and away from you.

6. The Third Eye Chakra is Indigo (Ajna)

The Ajna chakra (THIRD EYE CHAKRA) allows us to experience clear thoughts, spiritual contemplation, and self-reflection.

Your third eye helps to unify and bring your thoughts together.

It’s really important for intuition and self-awareness, for visualization, for creative dreaming. It’s a great place to create your dreams and put them out on your mind.

How do you know if you are experiencing any blockages in your THIRD EYE CHAKRA

You could experience nightmares, headaches, any kind of eye strain, or blurred vision.

The takeaway from understanding this and the other symptoms of energy blockages is the realisation that physical problems call our attention into a more holistic understanding of our issues as opposed to the limited approach that only focuses on experimental pains on the physical plane.

When your third eye chakra is blocked it is hard to visualize, it’s hard to create on the inner mind eye, what you dream for, what you long for.

So it’s really important to keep your third eye balanced so you can integrate all those things, your dreams, your feelings, your hopes, your love, into a singular point, and that would be your third eye chakra.

Even imagining a breading light into your third eye can help bring you solutions that you were before unable to envision

Is where we receive our divine knowledge, our inspiration, our knowing that we are part of a whole moving in perfect alignment.

This is the chakra where our spiritual understanding, our union with ourselves, and our divine nature all happen here.

We experience the energy coming through the crown into all the other chakras.

Some things you may experience if you have a block in the crown chakra are learning disabilities, depression, apathy, boredom, not feeling connected to your purpose, your wisdom.

Anything that makes you feel disconnected from the source of your existence.

Final thoughts about chakra colors

We’ve gone through an overview of all 7 different chakra colors of the body and how you can spot imbalances in any of them as well as how to realign them by increasing the energy flow or in some cases decreasing it when overstimulated.

Now, as vibrational energy beings, our energies are at all times moving, exchanging with each other, alive.

They come and go from the balanced states to unbalanced states just as a natural movement.

If you are able to spot any of the symptoms of unbalanced chakras, you may want to implement some or all of the solutions laid out in this article to remove blockages on particular chakras and keep your chakras balanced.

Again, life is moving, ever-changing.

There’s no ultimate stability, life itself is a game of alignment and disorder.

The understanding of the chakras and the energy movements in your body can be the difference from thriving in this ever-changing space or being like a little leaf being pushed by an incessant wind.

I hope this article about the 7 chakra colors was good for you in some way.
