Discover How Yoga Offered to Taylor an Outlet to Channel Grief

I started yoga in college, as a means of fixing a very injured body.

I was a Division I volleyball player and the toll it had taken on my body was immense.

I wanted to stay active with low impact so yoga was what I chose.

It turned out to be the best decision I’d ever make.

I continued to practice on and off until my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Throughout her treatment, illness, and death, yoga offered me an outlet to channel grief. It helped to put me back together, again.

Then, after moving to Dallas and failing many times to find my passion, I stumbled across teacher training at CorePower.

I was instantly uplifted and felt pulled to do it. I didn’t know if I wanted to teach but I knew I wanted to dive deeper into something that has had saved me time and time again.

It was just the beginning for me.

Now I’m teaching and practicing with a completely full heart.

Every time I interact with a student, I want to offer a safe space to practice wellness and self-love.

Every day, I try to absorb more, both from my students and other teachers. I am constantly learning.

It’s a beautiful feeling to, in any way, deepen someone’s practice on and off the mat.
