Renee Told Us How Yoga Helped Her To Relive Her Nerve Pain Condition

I first started yoga when I was in a bad spot.

Around 2009, some fancy neurologists diagnosed me with a chronic nerve pain condition. My nerve pain was untreatable with over the counter and prescription pain medication.

To control the pain, there’s crazy expensive options like nerve block shots, surgery and physical therapy (PT).

I opted for PT because it was cheaper and less scary than the other treatments.

PT utilized both Pilates and yoga to rehab my tight muscles and relieve the pain from my nerves.

It was hard for me to transition from high impact exercise to “stretching” but it helped… A LOT.

I did some calculations and realized that joining a yoga studio was 99% cheaper than continuing with PT. I happily joined a studio in LA and learned some basic yoga moves.

My chronic pain steadily receded and was gone after 2 years of a steady yoga practice.

My love of yoga took root when I moved to Texas and started a family.

Prenatal yoga was a great way to socialize and feel good while pregnant.

After I had my baby girl, Selena, the breathing exercises incorporated with the yoga practice was a great mommy stress reliever.

Now Selena is 3 years old and able to do yoga with me and I love sharing my favorite activity with her.

Life is good.
